NFSU Admission 2026: Eligibility, Entrance Exams, Application Process and Important Dates

National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar, is running admissions for the 2026-27 academic session across its undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and Ph.D. programmes. The university, which specialises in forensic science, cyber security and behavioural sciences, has moved away from its own entrance test this year and is instead admitting students on the basis of established national-level exams.

NFAT Scrapped, CUET and Other Exams Take Over

NFSU has cancelled its own National Forensic Admission Test (NFAT) for the 2026 admission cycle. In its place, UG and integrated BSc-MSc programmes are being filled using CUET UG scores, while PG programmes such as Forensic Science, Forensic Biotechnology, Criminology and Toxicology are being filled through CUET PG.

Candidates applying to law programmes can use their CLAT scores, while those seeking admission to the MBA/PGDM course can apply through CAT. Engineering and pharmacy aspirants may also be considered on the basis of JEE Main, GATE or GPAT scores, depending on the programme.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be Indian citizens (a separate portal exists for international and CIWGC applicants).
  • A minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examination is required for general category candidates.
  • The relaxed minimum for SC/ST/PwBD category candidates is 50%.
  • Programme-specific eligibility (subject combinations, minimum percentile in the relevant entrance exam, etc.) varies by course and is listed on the official admission page.

How to Apply

  • Visit the official NFSU admission portal.
  • Register with basic personal and contact details.
  • Fill in academic qualifications and upload the required documents in the specified format.
  • Enter your relevant entrance exam (CUET/CLAT/CAT/JEE/GATE/GPAT) score details.
  • Pay the online application fee, which typically ranges from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,500 depending on the programme.
  • Review and submit the form, and keep a copy of the confirmation receipt.

Ph.D. Admissions Also Open

Alongside UG and PG admissions, NFSU's Ph.D. programme for the 2026-27 academic year is open for applications. National (Indian) applicants and international/CIWGC applicants have separate portals to apply through. Ph.D. eligibility generally requires a master's degree with at least 60% marks (55% for reserved categories), along with a qualifying score in exams such as GATE, GPAT, UGC-NET or JRF, followed by an interview.

Law and Management Programmes: Rolling Windows

Because NFSU accepts scores from multiple national exams, some application windows stay open later in the year than others. As of mid-September 2026, registration for CAT (used for the MBA/PGDM programme) and CLAT (used for BA LLB and BBA LLB) were both still open. Since exact deadlines can shift, applicants should confirm current dates on the official site before finalising their exam registration.
