Jagannath University Result 2026 JnU Admission and Semester Results Online

Jagannath University (JnU), Dhaka publishes two very different kinds of results: undergraduate admission test results for its A, B, C, D and E units, and regular semester or year-end examination results for enrolled students. Both are released online, but they are checked in completely different places. This guide covers each one.

Where JnU results are published

There is no single page for everything. Use the right portal for the result you are looking for:

• Admission test results — the admission portal at admission.jnu.ac.bd, where you log in with the credentials you created during application.
• Semester and examination results — released as notices and PDF result sheets on the university's main website, jnu.ac.bd, and on individual departmental websites.

Treat anything else as unofficial. Result PDFs circulated on social media are often edited or out of date, so always cross-check against the university site before acting on them.

How to check the JnU admission result

The admission result system is login-based rather than roll-number lookup. The process is:

• Go to admission.jnu.ac.bd.
• Open the login menu and sign in with the roll number and password you set when applying.
• Select the unit you applied for.
• View your score, merit position and status — merit list, waiting list, or not selected.

Selected candidates also receive an SMS on the mobile number registered during application. The SMS is a notification, not proof of selection — confirm the details in the portal.

The five admission units

• A Unit — Science
• B Unit — Arts and Law
• C Unit — Business Studies
• D Unit — Social Sciences
• E Unit — Fine Arts

Each unit holds its own test on its own date, so results are published unit by unit rather than all at once. Your result date depends entirely on which unit you sat for.

How the merit score is calculated

For the 2025-26 session, JnU moved to its own independent admission test after stepping away from the GST cluster system. The final merit score is out of 100 marks:

• MCQ admission test — 72 marks
• SSC or equivalent GPA — 10 marks
• HSC or equivalent GPA — 18 marks

The written test for Units A, B, C and D is fully MCQ-based and runs for one hour. Each question carries 0.75 marks, and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. Because your SSC and HSC GPA are folded into the total, two candidates with identical test scores can still finish at different merit positions.

When results are usually released

JnU has generally published each unit's result within three to seven days of that unit's admission test. Treat this as a pattern, not a promise — the university does not always commit to a fixed date in advance, and revised results have been issued in past cycles when scores were re-checked.

For semester examinations, timelines vary widely between departments and faculties. Your department's notice board and departmental website are the fastest sources.

What happens after the merit list

Being on the merit list is not the end of the process. Candidates who qualify are usually required to:

• Fill out a subject preference or choice form within the window given, typically about a week.
• Wait for subject allocation based on merit position and seat availability.
• Complete admission formalities and fee payment by the stated deadline.

List your genuine first choice first. Preference forms are ranked, and a missed deadline generally means the seat moves to the next candidate on the list.

If you are on the waiting list

A waiting list position is not a rejection. Seats open up as selected candidates decline, fail to complete formalities, or take admission elsewhere, and the university then releases further merit lists. Keep checking the portal through the full admission cycle rather than assuming the first list is final.

Common problems when checking results

• Portal not loading — traffic spikes heavily in the first hours after a result drops. Wait and retry rather than refreshing repeatedly.
• Forgotten password — use the password recovery option on the admission portal with your registered mobile number.
• No SMS received — check the portal directly. SMS delivery can be delayed by hours.
