CUET UG 2026 Scorecard: How Central Universities Will Use Your Score

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2026 scorecard has been released, and unlike a school board exam, this score by itself doesn't tell you which college or course you'll get — that depends entirely on how each participating university chooses to use it.

Percentile, not raw score

Because CUET UG is conducted across multiple shifts with different question sets, NTA normalises scores into a percentile so that results remain fair regardless of which shift a student appeared in. Universities generally publish their own merit lists based on this percentile, combined with the subject combination you attempted.

How universities use it differently

• Some universities (like Delhi University) run their own centralised seat allocation portal that converts your CUET score directly into ranked preferences across colleges and programmes.
• Others may add a small weightage for Class 12 marks, a language test, or a specific domain subject depending on the course you're applying for.
• Cutoffs vary widely by programme and college, and are usually only announced after registration for that university's admission portal closes.

What to do now

Register on each central university's own admission portal separately — a CUET score alone does not automatically enrol you anywhere. Keep track of registration deadlines for each university you're targeting, as they rarely align with each other.
